Why This TV Producer Left Her High Powered NYC Career To Build An Interior Design Lifestyle Store In Tulum Mexico

In episode 23 of Black Broads Abroad, I interview Dominique Michelle Bragg. Dominique was born in Hollywood Hills, California, and was raised in the Cheviot Hills area of Los Angeles. After attending private school, she went on to obtain her degree in Graphic Design from California State University, Northridge. She began her career in the fast-paced setting of MTV’s Graphic Design Department.

Without a roadmap, Dominique moved to New York City and quickly landed a position as the Project Manager at GILT GROUPE. She was hired for the rebranding of their online shopping and lifestyle website based in the United States. After her success at GILT, she moved on to become an independent TV producer for advertisement campaigns and creative oversight. She directed the entire account for Macy’s and others. Like other visionaries, Dominique soon became inspired to move beyond the hustle and bustle of NYC energy which led her to relocate to Tulum, Mexico in 2017.

Combining her artistic and brand development skills, she has opened TUSK TULUM. This unique retail store integrates the fabrics and colors of the Mayan Rivera. Tusk Tulum has a personal commitment to cultural diversity and community involvement. Dominique hopes that others will discover the beauty of Mexico and take home a piece of Tulum as a reminder to always expand and grow.
