Why This 4X Expat, Life Coach + Educator Now Calls Egypt Her Home

In episode 13, I interview Kamara Coaxum. Kamara grew up knowing that she wanted to travel the world and teach. Her name,

Kamara, means, One Who Teaches. So, you could say that molding young minds was her destiny. She was born and grew up in Shaker Heights, OH but is a nomad at Heart. Kamara received her B.A. from Clark Atlanta University and her M.A from Teachers College-Columbia University. Kamara is coming from London, where she taught 3 rd grade at The American School in London. She spent six years teaching at The Spence School in New York City. Kamara has also taught in Beijing, Tampa and Abu Dhabi. In total, She has been teaching for 20 years.

In her spare time, Kamara enjoys making jewelry for her company, Peacock Bijou as well as a line of luxe pet accessories for her company Puppy Bijou. One of her ongoing passions is helping others. She is a certified life coach focusing in the areas of Educational Relocation, Debt Reduction, Life Empowerment and Expat Lifestyle. Drawing upon her background in education and 20 years of experience, Kamara has a unique appreciation of mindset and the power it has to change lives. She enjoys helping clients develop new skills that will allow them to access available resources that support them in the future. She delights in working with adults, families and Children.

Kamara has been an avid traveler her whole life. She has traveled to over 80 countries and has lived in Abu Dhabi, UAE, London, UK and Beijing, China and now Cairo Egypt. She is currently learning Arabic and aspires to become a member of the Traveler’s Century Club within the next five years.
